PUSPAL, an Agency for application for foreign filming and performances by foreign artistes was established since 2002 through a cabinet’s decision in 2001. PUSPAL is tasked to assist applications for foreign production and international promoters to film or perform in Malaysia. With the collaboration of 16 Agencies in the PUSPAL Committee, applications are assessed individually to ensure that all aspects are considered, look into and evaluated while complying to the rules and regulations enforced by the authority. As an agency in charge of foreign films and performances, PUSPAL also constantly reviews policies with regards to foreign film and performances in Malaysia. With the purpose of PUSPAL establishment kept priority, all approvals from relevant authorities are streamlined and coordinated under one roof. In addition, the formation of the PUSPAL committee (JK-PUSPAL) which consist of decision makers from 16 different government agencies  with individual authoritative role, help ease the overall process without needing to deal with multiple agencies one by one.
